The Taiwan-based phone maker officially introduced the HTC One M8 at an event. The new handset fits in the design language introduced last year by its predecessor, but it comes with a more powerful hardware platform and tons of new software features.

Even though the HTC One 2014 is a reminiscent of last year’s HTC One, the back is more curved and the corners are less sharp. Furthermore, the new handset has ditched the capacitive buttons over on-screen software keys. It’s 146.36 mm tall, 70.6 mm wide, 9.35 mm thin, and weighs 160 grams.

The new One (M8) is identical to all the leaks we’ve seen thus far and just like the Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2; the M8 appears to be a mild refresh of HTC’s previous flagship. The All New HTC One packs a 5.0-inch Super LCD3 display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, while the processing tasks are handled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and quad-core Adreno 330 GPU. The device also comes with 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB native storage, 2,600 mAh battery, and the brand new “Duo Camera.”

The Duo Cameras seem to be sporting the same 4 MP UltraPixel sensor that was fitted on the back of the original HTC One, but courtesy of a depth sensor installed on the secondary rear camera, the users will be able to get more detailed depth information and use it to enable creative effects. According to HTC’s representatives the Duo Camera enables you to “do more with your images than ever before.” The front-facing camera of the HTC One M8 has a 5 MP sensor with wide-angle lens.

The smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, customized with HTC’s Sense 6.0 UI. The improved BoomSound speakers are 25% louder than the ones of the original HTC One, while the extreme power saving mode keeps the M8 awake 40% than its predecessor.

The other specifications of the HTC One M8 also include 3G, 4G LTE, GPS, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0

The HTC One M8 will be out in the market by the end of April in Australia, Taiwan, UK, Germany, France, China and the US.

  2. Its great: Prior we had as of now portray the disadvantages of HTC One MAX and HTC Desire 600, Today I am going to impart the Disadvantages of HTC One M8. HTC make truly amazing phones, However the cost is a fiasco from HTC. I must concede their configuration is smooth and rich that gets eyeballs. At the same time in the meantime other maker can provide for you much better at that cost what HTC gives? Thanks all.
