Closure of BA, BSC: Bachelor in vocational studies to replace BA, BSC courses

The University Grants Commission (UGC) proposed closure of BA and BSc studies stating the out of the course. It is preparing to launch a new course instead. Its Bachelor of Vocational Education which will be completely employment oriented. Curriculum of the courses will be designed according to the demands of industry.

UGC have drafted to replace BA, BSc studies. The Circular of this is available on the website of State Universities and Colleges affiliated, available login.

This course will be introducing in 2015-16 session as experiment. During the first phase, 200 colleges in the country will start the course. This system will be implemented in several phases. BA, BSc studies is not so employment intensive. Therefore it is important to change.
