Facebook's New Feature 'Save for Later' Under Testing

Facebook's New Feature 'Save for Later' Under Testing
Facebook is known for experimenting with new features - with some become part of the social networking site, while others are simply abandoned.

Facebook is reportedly testing a feature to let users save shared links on the site for later reading, similar to apps like Instapaper and Pocket. Thus, it is not yet clear whether this 'Save for Later' feature becomes a permanent part of Facebook or is simply dropped after testing.

The feature comes in the form of a small iBook-like bookmark button attached to stories shared in the News Feed and if a user clicks on the button, the link will be set aside in a ‘saved’ menu inside a user’s Facebook apps menu.

The company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg had once said that Facebook wants to give everyone in the world the best personalized newspaper.

Any official announcement about the extent and time of rolling out the feature is yet to happen.
